Northern Lights Abalone & Keshi Pearl Reversible Necklace

Inspired by the shifting colors of the Northern Lights, this one-of-a-kind statement necklace is handcrafted in sterling silver around an extraordinary piece of New Zealand abalone. Deep greens, turquoise, gold and near-black move across the surface as the light changes, giving the shell an almost otherworldly glow.

I purchased this abalone years ago from a New Zealand artist I worked with during my time when I lived in Vancouver. She personally selected the shells, cut each piece herself and carefully coated them to protect their natural beauty. I have kept a small handful of these special pieces ever since, waiting for the right designs.

The pendant is reversible, with a small window cut into the back revealing another beautiful section of the shell's natural pattern. An organically shaped bezel-set keshi pearl sits above the abalone, adding a soft, luminous contrast to its dramatic color.

Entirely handcrafted in silver and designed as a true statement piece, this is a necklace that changes with the light—and offers something beautiful from either side.

Product care & materials

How do I care for my jewelry?

Keep it away from moisture and direct sunlight, preferrably kept in a soft pouch or in the box it came with

What if I don't know my ring size?

1. Measure a ring you already own

Take a ring that fits the finger you’re shopping for and measure the inside diameter (straight across the center). Match that measurement to our ring size chart.

2. Use the string or paper method

Wrap a thin piece of string or paper snugly around your finger. Mark where it overlaps, then measure the length with a ruler. Compare that measurement to our sizing guide to find your size.

3. Consider the finger & fit

Your dominant hand is usually slightly larger. Wider bands may feel tighter, so if you’re between sizes, we recommend sizing up.

Still unsure? That’s okay! If your ring doesn’t fit quite right, we’re happy to help- just reach out to us anytime.
